from the tiniest seed grows the tallest tree
Seed of Small Beginnings is a non-profit organisation founded in 2014 by Swiss-born Andrea Brüschweiler Paulich.
In 2012 Andrea decided to take a time-out and volunteered for 8 months as production manager for Phare Ponleu Selpak, a non-profit organisation in Battambang, Cambodia, leading a young Cambodian team of self-taught graphic designers and animators to help them improve and professionalise the production processes.
After this experience, she founded a non-profit association in Switzerland with projects in Cambodia with the aim of promoting mainly local initiatives.
Behind the projects in Bech Khlok and Battambang are visions of enabling local actors who want to lead their country into a better future. In recent years, it has succeeded in supporting the locally initiated projects within education, environment and health sectors with the aim of sustainably improving the living conditions of the local people.
Decisive for the success of these projects is the cooperation of all parties involved, which expresses equal appreciation and respectful recognition.
At the end of 2019, the project management was completely handed over into Cambodian hands. The Cambodian initiators now independently manage the business of the locally registered non-profit organisation Seed for Cambodia, working closely with the two Seed associations in Switzerland and Germany.
