The two American students Jessica and Josh from Trinity College, Hartford CT, made a dream come true and gave the children of Bech Khlok a playground. Together with our project manager Heang Ho and the construction workers they built the most beautiful playground in Cambodia!
The project was financed thanks to a grant from Trinity College Davis Projects for Peace, which was applied for by Jessica and Josh. I sketched the designs for the individual parts on my iPad and was surprised at how well they were implemented, even though no one involved had ever built a playground before. In addition to the playground, there is now also a soccer field with goals and a volleyball field. At the end of the construction work, there was a football training session with staff from the SALT Academy, an organisation that offers sports and leadership training for Cambodian youngsters. Die zwei amerikanischen Studenten Jessica und Josh vom Trinity College, Hartford CT, haben den Traum war gemacht und den Kindern von Bech Khlok einen Spielplatz geschenkt. Zusammen mit unserem Projektleiter Heang Ho und den Bauarbeitern bauten sie den schönsten Spielplatz Kambodschas!Der Spielplatz konnte dank eines Zuschusses des Trinity College Davis Projects for Peace finanziert werden, den Jessica und Josh beantragten. Die Entwürfe für die einzelnen Geräte skizzierte ich auf meinem iPad und war überrascht, wie toll sie umgesetzt wurden, obwohl alle Beteiligten noch nie einen Spielplatz gebaut haben!Zusätzlich zum Spielplatz gibt es jetzt auch ein Fussballfeld mit Toren und ein Volleyballfeld. Zum Abschluss der Bautätigkeit gab es noch ein Fussballtraining mit Mitarbeitern der SALT Academy, eine Organisation, die Sport- und Führungstraining für kambodschanische Jugendliche anbietet.
